Tributes

My grandpa lived 95 years full of accomplishments and reasons to be publicly recognized— but he and my grandma made sure we knew their greatest joy was their family. He lived what he believed which was to love and serve. He always lit up and gave me a “hello, Megs!” whenever I saw him, leading me to believe I was his favorite. But I think he made everyone feel that way. His legacy will continue to be felt long after he’s gone!Megan Rinke

Shayne,

I just heard that your dad passed away.  What a wonderful man and mentor he was to so many of us that knew him.  He will certainly be missed by all.  I know my siblings feel the same as I do.  We all have great memories of our families together in Boise as he served as our bishop and stake president.  Please pass along our love and condolences to your siblings and their families, and especially to your remarkable and sweet mother.  I’ll watch for an obituary and pass that info along to my family.  I hope to attend the funeral if possible, but will also look to see if it will be broadcast over the internet – I know my family would want to know.

Take care, old friend!

Shayne,

I finally have a minute (and remembered, as well) to send you a note to express my love for you and your siblings.  What a wonderful service it was on Saturday – a great tribute to your remarkable father . . . and his equally remarkable bride.  I’m just sorry I was unable to be there in person to express my condolences.  But, Shelly did send a spray of flowers to honor him and his family (although the florist forgot to put our last names on the note).  Hopefully, that was able to convey to you and your siblings how much we think of the Clarke family.

May the Lord continue to bless you and yours.  And maybe we’ll run into one another again on campus sometime.

Brian [Roberts]
